Purpose
This assignment requires your team to find information about companies active in the media and telecommunications sectors. It will help you develop skills in researching the media and telecommunications industries. You will choose a publicly traded media or telecommunications company from a list available in CANVAS and inform me about your
selection. You will research the company, the market in which it operates, its business plans, users, profitability, competitors, how they manage their human capital, what is their code of
ethics and more. Two publishs will be due during the semester and then the final compiled report.
The final report will answer a set of questions included in the guideline in CANVAS. Additional
instructions will be given in class. You will submit your findings in a twelve-to-fifteen-page report,
citing all sources of information according to one of the popular citation guidelines such as APA,
MLA or Blue Book. The Company Report guideline, grading template, company list will all be
available in CANVAS. The goal is for you to end up with a document submitted in a formal manner
that you may also show recruiters as tangible evidence you know how to compile, evaluate and
present a report. Various due dates for publishs and final project are in Canvas.

Upload in Canvas the first publish for your Company Report.
This publish is two sections that should cover what ethics, code of conduct, mission statement the company seems to profess to the public versus vs. what may be going behind closed doors and then also their track record with human resources. Track down who are the key C- suite people and do a quick summary/analysis of who is controlling what aspects of the company. Do NOT copy directly from a website and dump it into your publish. This is not kindergarten folks. Look at the information you are seeing, talk about it and then summarize it for this publish. Considerations such as what do you see as far as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in that *C-Suite? Ages? Education? Ethnicity? Background – have they been there for decades? You should also cover any information you can find on how the company treats its’ Human Capital and again how does DEI play into their hiring practices? It’s possible these two sections may overlap. That’s OK. But it still should be written as two sections. See more in-depth requirements listed in Canvas. Your publish will be returned with my comments within a week to ten days to allow you to update or correct.
