• Identify the public health problem that your policy will address and the target population that will be affected.
• You must include a rationale for why this public health policy is important, particularly your target population or the relevant population based on your policy.
• This means you must incorporate data from the literature and public health surveillance systems demonstrating a need for policy.
1. Policy Description (150-250 words): Describe the components of your selected policy.
2. Impact Evaluation Plan (300-450 words): Outline the evaluation plan of your policy. Your impact evaluation plan should include
Health Outcome: What are the health outcomes that are potentially influenced by the policy?
Evaluation Period: What is your proposed evaluation period? For example, 2 years before a health policy is enacted to 2 years after a health policy is enacted. What are your reasons and justification for your proposed evaluation period?
Evaluation Question: What is your evaluation question? What is the effect of your policy/program (X) on your outcome of interest (Y)?
Data Selection: What data can be used? How will these data be synthesized to reach justifiable conclusions about the effectiveness of the policy?
