Develop a narrated PowerPoint presentation on the Tenth Amendment and mission creep of the U.S. Army and Air National Guard. Focus on three primary areas: civil disturbance, pandemic response, and supply chain support. Answer the following five questions, and review additional details about each one in the unit lesson as well.
What is the Tenth Amendment?
How does the Tenth Amendment affect mandatory evacuation?
Do citizens have a right, under the Tenth Amendment, to remain in defiance of the evacuation order?
If the citizen is forced to evacuate, can the state government be found liable for damages sustained to life, medical, or property?
Is there a legitimate need for U.S. Army and Air National Guard forces at the state level?
Has the mission of the Guard changed in the last 10 years? If so, why, and if not, should it?
Do you believe that governors should use the Guard for non-military purposes, such as immigration deterrence or pandemic response?
Do you believe the deployment of the Guard is required in civil disturbances?
Do you believe the Guard is fully funded and capable of all their current missions?
You should identify at least three legal arguments or precedents that could be used to assert or defend an allegation derived from the Tenth Amendment.
Be sure to define liability and how it relates to the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.
Determine if violating a mandatory evacuation order is criminal. Does the citizen have the right to stay after a compulsory evacuation order, and does the city have an obligation to respond? Based on Kenner’s cheat sheet, the answer would be yes, you may stay, and no, the city does not have the responsibility to respond during the emergency period. Does this decision demonstrate a violation of the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution?
You must use APA Style, including citations and references. The Notes section must be used for most of the text required for this assignment, and images must be captioned within the PowerPoint. Your assignment must be a minimum of 12 slides in length, not counting the title and reference slides.
Use bullets on the slides and expand your information in the Notes section of each slide. You must have a minimum of one external source.
