Overview
All writers will reflect back on their work to see what changes they have made in the way they think and how
their writing process adapts. From COMM 101 to 102, the expectations and assignments have differed greatly,
however, they share many of the same goals. For this assignment, you will think back on how your work
specifically meets the learning objectives in the COMM program.

You should follow the prompts below when crafting your reflection:
A. Review the course objectives for both 101 and 102. (I will provide you a handout with them listed).
B. Describe how your work demonstrates the learning objectives. For example, in your description, point
to specific portions of your writing that demonstrate your understanding of course concepts.
a. Where in your writing do you demonstrate audience awareness? Where do you demonstrate
proper logic and other appeals to readers’ interests and concerns?
b. Where in your writing do you demonstrate your ability to write publishs and then revise those publishs
for more effective communication?
c. Where in your writing do you demonstrate your knowledge of using sources correctly and
accurately? Where do you demonstrate that you have selected the most authoritative and credible
sources?
d. Where in your writing do you demonstrate your knowledge of grammar usage? Is there a sentence
or paragraph you changed from your first publish to your final publish because you noticed a grammar
issue, or you wanted to make a stylistic change for readers?
C. Describe your overall strengths and weaknesses of your writing in light of the course objectives. What
do you particularly well and what aspects of the learning objectives remain challenging for you?
Perhaps you started off the semester one way and you worked towards some of your personal
objectives.
