with PMI. In the following pages the following issues are addressed
-Describe the prevalence of PMI in police calls for service and wellness checks. You can use the

-Use chart(s) to summarize this information (I have a video that shows this example). Why is it
difficult to get accurate information on these interactions (Hint: Huey et al. (2022) Policing Mental Health Book)
-What are some of the challenges for the police in responding to calls working with PMI?
-What are some negative outcomes for PMI in dealing with the police?
-Why should police leaders be concerned about meeting the needs of PMI? (e.g., Implications for
their organizations).
Assignment Requirements:
-Minimum of 1,200 words – Maximum of 1,400 words. Please DON’T go over 1,400 words
(otherwise you will have trouble with the word requirement for Assignment #2). The word limit
includes the references.
-Cite at least five peer reviewed articles (e.g., that you find on Google Scholar). I won’t count course
materials (like Huey et al. 2022) as references for this assignment.
-Try to use Canadian references if you can – try to use information published after 2010.
-Use headings (They help the writer stay focused and make it easier for the reader).
-Do not use any direct quotes in your paper – I want to read your writing! (I deduct points for direct
quotes).
-Feel free to report statistics and numbers from your references (be careful to cite them).
-Don’t use a title page.
-Don’t include any “funny or personal stories” or anything that isn’t related to the subject. Avoid
using stories from the Huey book.
-Avoid referring to “I” and “me” in your paper (the reader knows that it is your opinion).
-American Psychological Association (APA) 7 format.
-Hint: Write this assignment as though you were preparing it for a police chief who is concerned about
having the best officers possible joining their organization. Be professional and write clearly so that anybody will understand your points. Readers don’t like “big” words and any grade 12 student should be
able to read and fully understand your paper.
