Purpose
Many professional fields, be it in research or otherwise, are dominated by specific groups. In science, it traditionally is white men. Obviously, the ‘good old’ boys are not the only population who contributes.
In this activity, we want to highlight scientific accomplishments done by persons who did so against the ‘status quo’. We want to acknowledge the great work done by them to make the world a better place. We also want to empower each other by honoring them. We do that by creating a google map pinning where they were born and describing them briefly.
Reading each other’s posts and reflecting on their spotlight scientist’s contributions
What learned? Are their stories inspiring? In what way?
