1)The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) coordinate state and federal resources to assist local government in response and relief activities in the event of an emergency or disaster. Under the Michigan Emergency Management Act, each county is required to appoint an emergency management coordinator. In addition, some Michigan communities have municipal emergency management coordinators. Emergency management coordinators are responsible for planning for hazard mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery in local communities. I just learned about Michigan’s severe storm/flooding that took place on June 25, 2021 -June 26, 2021. The counties of Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne were affected. FEMA will work with the Individual/Public Assistance Program and Hazard Mitigation Grant (HMGP). In efforts to reduce damage from future disasters, FEMA intends to provide assistance for the restoration of these facilities to their pre-disaster condition, except that certain measures to mitigate the effects of future flooding or other hazards may be included in the work. For Example, a bridge or culvert restoration may include a larger waterway opening to decrease the risk of future washouts.

Depending on the situation, I will have to be kind and caring of people’s fears but also assertive as it could be important for the guests to follow the rules. Overall, I would try my best to stay calm and collected while putting the guests safety first. It is the responsibility of emergency responders at the scene to isolate, contain, and neutralize the incident. The ERT will be responsible for managing and directing the activities of the various departments that will be involved in emergency response and recovery. In some States, after a State emergency declaration, the Governor may establish economic control over resources and services such as food, wages, clothing, and shelter in the affected area. Under a State emergency declaration, governors typically are empowered to mobilize the National Guard and direct its efforts. Greater collaboration among nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) after disasters is important in helping them deliver services, share information, and avoid resource duplication. Following a disaster, numerous NGOs, including a large number of faith-based NGOs, typically offer disaster assistance.
